[Evolution] inbox folder contents not visible

I have evo 2.4.1 under Ubuntu Debian configured for several IMAP and POP
accounts. These were transferred from an earlier Libranet Debian install
which all worked fine there.

Everything works fine now except for two of the IMAP accounts show new
messages as bold bracketed numbers as normal but when the Inbox is
opened there is nothing visible. I have cleared the filters and checked
the view options.

I have created an account with same parameters in sylpheed-claws and can
see folder contents OK there.

I have tried creating a duplicate account in evo with the same results
as the original account.

Any suggestions appreciated
