RE: [Evolution] Global Catalog issue

Evolution 2.0.2 is a stable release of evolution. Raise a bug in
bugzilla.gnome.org, under product 'connector, paste E2K_DEBUG traces in
bugzilla.
To get E2K_DEBUG traces, export E2K_DEUBG=4,
start /opt/gnome/lib/evolution-2.0/evolution-exchange-storage from
terminal then launch evolution, copy paste traces traces when you get
GAL access error.

I'm attempting to update to a newer version of Evolution
Newer version from evolutin 1.4 -> 2.0.2 or from 2.0.2 -> ?
 but am running
into difficulties with dependencies and finding all the necessary files
to do it. I'm very new to linux..IT seems Novell has wrapped up the
current release in its redcarpet software in their distro of Novell
Linux and Suse.

Did you verify that the server IS responding to LDAP? I had the same
error once and cursed up Evolution until I realized that other LDAP
programs weren't working either.

I tried with the IP address and I get the same error message.

entered an incorrect URL or the server is unreachable"

You should type IP address of server in which GAL is installed.
Which version of evolution are you using ?
Can you confirm if the problem you are facing is simillar to this

I am using Evolution and the Exchange connector to connect to an
Exchange 2003 cluster. Everything works accept accessing the global
catalog server. The address to the server is correct, there are no
firewall issues, but it tells me that the URL is incorrect. Does
anyone know what needs to be entered into this field? I have tried
putting the OWA address, the owa/public/ address, the address of the
global catalog server, every iteration I could think of and it just
gives the same error message.

Thanks,

Dave
