[Evolution] Receiving Option "use custom command to connect to server"

Hi all,
I am new to evolution.
Im usually working with evolution behind a firewall.
Normaly i use a shell  command to establish a tunnel over ssh to my imap
server. 
As imap -server in evolution is used localhost:1143 (the forwarded
port).
Al this is working fine! But I must manually establish the ssh
connection. 
And now I will use the Receiving Option: "use custom command to connect
to server" .
But this command I commit in this field have no efects.
The command i use ist the same as I type usualy in my shell to connect
the server. 
I have test too with xmessage "hello" . But this message will not shown
if I click "Get mail" button.

Any Idea?
