Today when I started evolution, my calendar appointments and contact list were empty. However, I still have a file .evolution/calendar/local/system/calendar.ics, which when I look with a text editor, I see still has my appointments. It's a similar story for .evolution/addressbook/local/system/addressbook.db. Has evolution somehow forgotten to look in these places, and if so how do I tell it?
does the user of evolution have the correct permissions to access those files? the information is stored in .gconf under /apps/evolution/.
Evolution seems to think that I have NO calendars at all! If I try to make an appointment on the blank calendar I'm shown a popus says "There is no calendar available for creating events and meetings"
is evolution-data-server running ("ps ax | grep evol" should show a process named evolution-data-server)?
While in calendar view, the left panel is empty. Isn't that supposed to be the location for a list of available candars?
yes.
Email is working, including both IMAP and locally stored mail, so it must be reading SOME of the info under ~/.evolution! I'm running version 2.0.2, on Fedora Core 3 and using the .gnome desktop. My home directory was recently restored due to changing its location to new disks.
what does "restored" mean? how did you backup, what did you backup, how did you copy the data to the new disk? which version did you use before, the same version? did you have to re-enter your imap passwords? i really assume that something went wrong here. for your interest: evolution2 stores your data in $HOME/.evolution/, your account settings in $HOME/.gconf/apps/evolution and your passwords in $HOME/.gnome2_private/Evolution. this is different from evolution 1.4. cheers, andre -- mailto:ak-47 gmx net | failed! http://www.iomc.de
