Using Kubuntu, evolution 2.4.1. How can I use Copy under Edit (it is
greyed out.
Good question... But since you want to use it, you clearly know what it
does, don't you? ;)
Frankly, I got to guess here. I assume you are talking about the main
menu Edit / Copy action. And again, I can only guess, that it is
supposed to copy highlighted text in a message body. Heck, that thingy
seems to never be sensitive...
I assume this insensitive-ness to be a bug. Filed. [1] Thanks for

Back to your question: If you are talking about Edit / Copy from the
main menu, judging by the accelerator Ctrl-C this really is supposed to
copy text, highlighted in the message body.
To use it, please use a workaround, for the time being. The right-click
context menu Copy works, just as well as the keyboard accelerator Ctrl-C
after selecting text in the mail. HTH
