Yo:
THIS IS INSANE:
I have THREE securemecca signatures, all of which are BOGUS!
I want to DELETE all of them and start over. I can understand
not being allowed to edit them, but where in the world is the
config file so that I can at least delete them manually. I am
not talking about the signatures themselves (.evolution/signatures)
but ALL REFERENCES TO THEM, AND THEM AS WELL. The reason for this
request is when I copy the entire .evolution folder from one machine
to another I lose them.
I also looked at editing them out of the following file:
.gconf/apps/evolution/mail/%gconf.xml
and that doesn't help either. If you are not going to allow us to
do it manually, please provide a delete button.

No, I sent it to the right place. Your name was on a web page as one of
the maintainers for the Ximian Evolution Mail package that stated
something along the lines of "signatures belong to us". If you are
no longer involved in the development or maintenance of the Ximian
Evolution mail package, then I apologize. What I would like to do is
find WHO to contact about this problem. You can actually have multiple
signatures with the same name, there is no provision to either DELETE
or EDIT the signatures. Deleting is just fine, but adding forever just
ain't going to cut it. In fact, it is frustrating enough to leave
Evolution behind and go with Thunderbird. If I had known about this
when I switched away from Pine, I would have gone with Thunderbird.
What I need though, is something that will be there for at least 10
years or so. I also do NOT want anything that doesn't allow me to
totally and thoroughly expunge ALL information when I delete it, which
includes the cache. I will even settle for a manual way of doing it.
Here are some of what I believe are your URLs:
http://tinyurl.com/8aj45
http://tinyurl.com/aoryg
http://tinyurl.com/7jspv
I can't find the exact page, but it did give your novell email address
which I cut and pasted. Did you once or ever work for Ximian? I note
there are a lot of fejj ximian com which may be a better place to send
this message to, so I am also CC'ing it there. I would be willing to
help work on the issue to resolve the problem. I assume that is you,
since Ximian has been bought out by Novell, SOMEBODY needs to
realize that this is a HUGE problem. I will settle for the delete
button, since my signature is rather short (see below). But adding
signatures without being able to delete them is a big problem.
