I reported this for Evo 1.2 to Bugzilla exactly 3 years and 3 days ago! 
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234539). The only improvement 
since then is that now we get the INBOX at the top. If arbitrary 
ordering is too hard can't we at least get Sent, Drafts, Junk and Trash 
grouped there as well?

Unfortunately Guenther's suggestion is no good to me as I use IMAP.
