Haven't you already asked this? It is rude to keep re-asking the same

Yes I have ... but I didn't get a response so I waited what seemed to be
a respectable amount of time before asking again. What else to do if you
don't get a reply and you are stuck with a problem?
The addressbook used should be identifiable by the entries in .gconf
in /apps/evolution/addressbook/sources, i think. The 'uid' will
match.
Thanks for this information. It has opened up a new avenue for tackling
the problem I have. I didn't know about .gconf in relation to
Evolution. I though everything was in .evolution.
The others are probably from broken importing code or something.
I am sure you are right. I should now be able to work out which is valid
and which is dead.

Could someone explain the file structure for addressbooks please. I have
59 directories with variations on the name
1104155018 3809 27 localhost localdomain plus one of System.
Each directory has tow files: addressbook.db and addressbook.db.summary.
I only have one addressbook (although I have had more in the past) but
never 58. So what are these directories and how can you tell what is
what when you need to import?
Thanks
Dave
