The only (recent) problems I've had with syncing evolution were problems
with the USB driver not recognizing my Sony CliÃ. It's weird that
people are reporting that they have connectivity with pilto-xfer but not
with gpilotd.

To debug gpilotd, make sure it's not running, and then start it in a
terminal. What does it say on startup? Does it say anything when you
hit the hotsync button?

and of course, I press the sync button on my Palm cradle but no
interaction.

and then I <Control-C> to quit gpilotd

and for demonstration purposes...

press the sync button on my pilot again and then execute command

Any help I can get in making this work would be appreciated - as I have
said, I can make it work with pilot-xfer and J-Pilot but gpilotd doesn't
seem to work for me at all
----
I guess that it's easy to tell me the first time that my problem was
that I didn't have it configured that to tell me what the problem was
when I added the configuration and still couldn't make it work.
