If Evo pops up an error ("No route to host") while a different app has
the focus, the error dialog steals the focus. While this is a minor
annoyance, the real problem is that after dismissing the error, the main
Evo window remains focused.

This even affects other Evo windows like the composer - I got a popup in
the middle of typing and after clocking OK I had to Alt-Tab to find this
composer window again.

Is this a known bug?

Yes it is. ALthough i really dont remember whats the bug id in
bugzilla.gnome.org - should look it up more thoroughly.

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247373 . it's even a HIG
violation currently. MUSTFIX.
it's the most annoying bug that i know of.
can you imagine how many times a day i had to press away those 1 or
sometimes even 3 pop up windows just because my wireless lan wasn't
stable? must have been a few thousand times within the last two years!
this has been punted for one and a half year now.

We had plans to fix up a lot this (UI stuff) for 2.6 (on priority
basis).

and where *is* that priority basis?

Just a reminder, time is running out. How are current plans and schedule
regarding fixing UI issues on priority?

2006-01-02 00:00 UTC String/UI Change Annoucement period
2006-01-30 00:00 UTC Hard UI Freeze
2006-02-13 00:00 UTC Hard String Freeze

...bugging master
hmm :-) Im taking on these things. Ive got Johnny working on UI with me.
We should be doing a lot of fixes. We probably, can fix as much as
issues as we can.

this is a sentence that any worker anywhere should say, and it's
extremely vague. wasn't the question about the *plans*? aren't there
any?

Probably, in the wiki, we can list some of must fixes
and we can go based on that as well.

and this purpose comes up now, three weeks before UI change announcement
period? so what is http://go-evolution.org/UI2.6 for?

and why having http://go-evolution.org/UIHackfest ? i've even updated it
in october and i'm going to update it again within the next two days if
you want me to, so just *u-s-e* it! it's also a nice place to start.

a bit late for thinking of having *another* list now. go ahead and just
code, i'd say - three weeks are still left for non-trivial issues.

sorry if i sound rude or if i exaggerate, but what has time been spent
on for the last two months? the new appt and meeting UI? hmm.

please start flaming me: now. ;-)

cheers,
andre

...and also a MUSTFIX: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260354
