If you retrieve any mail from your POP3 server without leaving them on the server (for that test account), you won't see them in your main account.
The pop e-mails are actually easy to move over. Just move the mbox where they are. may the markings, read, replied etc. will be incorrect but that shouldn't be a big problem. What about moving the contacts database? I wasn't successful with that!
IMAP. That way, you can run any MUA you want, and all email will be in one spot.
