Don't want to beat this topic into the ground, but...I went back and
tried this method suggested by Not Zed. I killed gconf on both
machines, killed evolution on both machines and rsync'd the evolution
and .gconf trees over again. It did not restore my environment back
to what I expected.
I still ended up having to re-define my filters (filters didn't know
where to move messages to) and also had to add columns to each
folder's view configuration. And auto-complete on addresses doesn't
work any longer either.
sounds like your $HOME changed between machines perhaps? If so, known
issue that's been resolved in 1.5 by not using full pathnames in the
config settings.
