Sounds like it is (orbit-idl) trying to run a gcc you don't have
(i486-slackware-linux-gcc).  Have you changed gcc versions since
installing orbit?

I built the full Evolution suite from source at version 1.4.5 and had no
difficulties. I noticed that Spell.idl hadn't changed from
gtkhtml-3.0.9. Is there something else I'm missing?
