I'm pretty sure you can set this by running the
gnome-default-applications-properties command (installed with GNOME's
control-center package).

Very true (for Gnome 2). :)

Though if you're not running GNOME, I'm not
sure what you'd do. Have a nice day. :-)

The very same. Evolution as a Gnome application sure will only respect
Gnome settings. The same for KDE and any other environment...

Marlaina, unfortunately you missed to mention the Evolution (and Gnome)
version you are running. At least I can see from your headers, you are
using Evolution 1.2.2, so the default answers posted quite often likely
don't apply to you.

Detailed instructions to set the default browser for Evolution 1.2 /
Gnome 1.4 can be found in the archives, for example:

char *t="\10pse\0r\0dtu\0  ghno\x4e\xc8\x79\xf4\xab\x51\x8a\x10\xf4\xf4\xc4";
main(){ char h,m=h=*t++,*x=t+2*h,c,i,l=*x,s=0; for (i=0;i<l;i++){ i%8? c<<=1:
(c=*++x); c&128 && (s+=h); if (!(h>>=1)||!t[s+h]){ putchar(t[s]);h=m;s=0; }}}
