Re: [Evolution] Error sending password

Just off the wall but..

I had quirky problems with my POP3 servers, once I host filed the pop3
domains all my odd issues went away..

Most of my domains were on the same ip so I did this..

1.2.3.4 smtp-out ximian-cl suse-cl novell-cl

so now my Incoming is ximian-cl and my outgoing is smtp-out.. Give that
a shot.. If anything, it makes your send.receive more informative as you
know what account is being checked, not just your server...

Hi,

I'v to add that the message is sometimes preceded by another popup with
following message:

Unable to connect to POP server xxx.xxx.net.
Error sending password: -ERR mailbox in use - is another session
active ?

Please enter the POP password for xxx xxx xxx on host xxx.xxx.net

I'm using SuSE 9.2 Pro with Evo 2.0.1. I had this problem also with Evo
1.4.6 and SuSE 9.1.

Before my 'conversion' to Linux, Outlook had no such problems.

Hi List,

It is starting to work on the nerves to continually receive a pop-up
window with the following message:

Unable to connect to POP server pop.xxx.xxx.
Error sending password: Operation now in progress.

I have 8 pop3 accounts which are fetched every 30 minutes. Every time
this pop-up appears. If I confirm with OK, it disappears without
comment! Often the password is asked again. The password is xxxx'ed out
and only an OK is sufficient to continue. The mail is then collected. It
seems that evo is too fast for these server. I use the "disable support
for all POP3 extensions" to try to solve the problem. It did'nt work
either.
