RE: [Evolution] Evo 1.5.91 and a *big* memory leak

you should take this over to connector ximian com mailing list - that's
where the connector developer "hangs out". I haven't seen him active on
this mailing list in quite a while and none of the rest of us known
enough about connector to be able to help you.

I do have a lot of mail and many folders. My inbox might have only
100 or so messages in it at any given time, but my sent items folder
has 28k items and deleted items has 79k items. Perhaps the issue is
somewhere in there? Again, this was no problem for 1.4.6.

Also, I use ONLY the Exchange account. I do not have any IMAP or POP3
accounts configured.

Without using Connector, 1.5.91 fires right up and works perfectly.

The issue is certainly something related to the connector. I can see
the bandwidth utilization on both my remote PC and on my Exchange
Server nearly non-stop for the 20-30 minute startup period. I’m not
sure what its doing during this time period.

Help me to help you guys. Let me know what else I can supply to
assist?

Thanks!

Rick

PS – My Exchange Public Folders no longer appear under my “work”
account – what happened there? In 1.4.6 you could drag messages from
Inbox to a public folder. Is this no longer supported?

how much mail do you have? folders? type of accounts? what about
not using connector at all?

"it uses lots of memory" contains no useful information for tracing
the issue.

and my evolution uses about the same as it ever did.

As I posted earlier, I am having a big memory problem as well. My evo
1.5.91 foot print is 200MB+ and my connector footprint is 260MB+ . In
1.4.6, the memory footprints are more like ~55MB and ~30MB
respectively.

Also, it takes 20-30 minutes for Evo 1.5.91 to OPEN with intense
network utilization the whole time. This happens every time you run
1.5.91, not just the first time. For me, it is unusable.

I'm using the SUSE 9.1 build from July 30th, if this matters. Noticed
the 25th of July build did the same thing.

Am I the only one to notice this?

Attached is a screen print of top(1), showing the memory usage.

Package: evolution1.5
Version: 1.5.91-1
Kernel: Linux 2.6.7
Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US

This is a pretty recent Sid with Evo from the experimental branch.
