How strange, my Opera fonts were totally trashed today too when I booted
(Opera's the only QT program I use). I did not upgrade Evolution.
Is your X font server running? Try "service xfs status" at a root
prompt. If not, try "service xfs start". That seems to have been my
problem. If that doesn't help you, I'm out of ideas for now.

Hi,
I just updated Evo from 1.4.4 to 1.4.5 with Red Carpet (I'm using KDE
3.1). Now all my fonts are rubbish. For example, Opera uses a
calligraphic font for the menus. My shell window and Evo uses a
monospaced font which has quite narrow letters and is therefore bad to
read. Monospace Luxi mono is somehow gone. How can I get back my fonts?

Restarting xfs didn't help. Now I downgraded freetype, Xft, fontconfig
and pango to my old versions I used before upgrading Evo (Redhat 8.0).
Evo 1.4.5 works and fonts are okay in Evo and KDE apps. Opera still has
problems with the font.
