Although without symbols it might not help much, you could try running evolution in gdb.
set a breakpoint on g_log, and then get the warning to happen - then get a backtrace. at least it'll point to which bit of code is spitting the warning.

Hi all,
This is NOT the usual FAQ regarding getting "my favourite browser" to launch from evolution. I've been through all the usual steps for this.
Simply put, I got a new laptop. I added evolution and XD2, just like on my old laptop. Both are running SuSE 8.2 and version 1.4.4 of evo and connector. When I click on a link, either in an email, or in the summary, nothing happens, except that an error message appears in the calling shell window :-
(evolution:9380): GLib-CRITICAL **: file gshell.c: line 603 (g_shell_parse_argv): assertion `command_line != NULL' failed
I've been into control center and set the URL handler to be galeon, mozilla, gnome-moz-remote and even a test script.
I suspect something is wrong with GConf, but I don't know where to start looking. Everything is up to date in red-carpet.
Upgrading to evolution-1.4.4.0.200309090601-0.snap.ximian.7.1 makes no difference.
Gconf is gconf2-2.2.0-37.ximian.7.7
I can't see any obvious difference between the two machines.
Anyone have any ideas what I might tackle next?
Regards,
Paul
