Well, this is the right place to discuss new feature request with other users -- beside the hackers@ that is likely not read by users... ;) Feature requests should be filed in http://bugzilla.ximian.com as wish.
I would like to have the ability to map my own keyboard shortcuts for all functions under the Action menu.
I am pretty sure, this is already filed. However, you may wanna search bugzilla and add comments. btw: Mark as Read is in the Edit menu, not Actions.
Presently the keyboard shortcut CTL-Q will close Evolution. I am in the process of moving from MS Outlook and I would like to at least have the ability to configure my own keyboard shortcuts (or even create them from scratch) as some of you may know the CTL-Q keyboard shortcut in MS Outlook marks the message as read.
This is already possible, although there is no GUI for this. As root you
can edit the responsible .xml files to your likings.
Well, attached are 2 diffs to accomplish this:
- File / Exit now has no shortcut
- Edit / Mark as [Un]Read shortcuts are changed from k to q
Use the diffs to patch the files in the /usr/share/evolution/1.4/ui/
directory and you should have at least this MS Outlook style.
