[Evolution] evolution startup crash

My evolution crashes on startup. :-(

i did an upgrade yesterday using redcarpet.  it worked fine for sometime,
but later crashed.  now it does not even startup. message:

assertion failed: (ret != NULL)
aborting...


now, any clue what orbit in evolution is?  i want to start debugging it
etc. it sucks to have my fav. mail client die, keeping my calendar with
it.

red hat 8.0

Gnome evolution 1.4.5


redcarpet says that this evol 1.4.5-0.ximain.5.1
