I am about to install 1.3.3 on a RedHat 9 system. I seem to remember a
tip about how to install it as the topic in the #evolution irc channel.
Can someone fill me in as to what the tip is. No one is currently
talking on irc atm.
I really don't know, what tip you are referring about. But here are some
general notes:
Evolution 1.3.92 is out! It's the first Release Candidate for 1.4.0:
http://developer.ximian.com/projects/evolution/
http://developer.ximian.com/projects/evolution/release_notes/1.3.92.html
To install, follow the release notes, use Red-Carpet (very easy) or get
the desired packages from an FTP server near you.
Red Carpet
http://www.ximian.com/products/redcarpet/download.html
FTP Mirrors (Evolution 1.3.92)
http://support.ximian.com/q?154
AFAIK the spell checking is broken for most languages in Evo 1.3.3, but
the current aspell-* packages look promising.
Warning: Release Candidate 1 is *NOT* parallel installable with Ximian
Evolution 1.2.x unlike the previous preview builds.
Personal note: Thanks, very well done, hackers! :-)
Keep up the good work and I will keep those bug reports coming...
btw: Gardner, which net hosts the #evolution IRC channel?
...guenther
Caveat: I am not authoritative. Although I have not seen announcement on
this lists, the official announcement is released on ximian.com.
