There are potential incompatibilities from different evolution versions,
different OS's, and different chips.

Since 99% of the information is in ascii format, all that will be fine
with just copying.  The address database, however is binary data.  That
will most likely have byte-ordering issues.  I would export all contacts
(or forward as vcard to myself), so you can rebuild your contacts on the
new platform.  The other option would be to use db tools to dump and
reload the data, but I'm not a wiz at that.

Uh, Lonnie might be really correct here. Sorry, haven't considered
contacts.

Ross, would be interesting, if you can report, if transferring
addressbook.db works fine across system architectures.
