FW: [Evolution] Import from Outlook Express contacts to Evolution 1.2.4 contacts?

What I can't figure out is what type of file am I suspose to be importing
for contacts. Calandar and tasks had an ics file, but contacts only has a
.xml and .db file, neither of which import.

That's funny, I really used outport just for the Contacts (address book),
and got the calendar as well. Maybe you have to be in Contacts in
Evolution then do the Import part..... Sorry I cant help any more. It's
been a while since I did the import and cant remember how.....

I was able to import calandar and tasks to evolution 1.2.4. I was NOT able
to import contacts which is what I really need. How do I import contacts ?
Also is there an easy way to sync between the two over the internet? It
seems to be a hassle to manually do the evolution import each day for
changes.

I think you need just import them from Evolution ( the tools/import dialog)
--as long as the generated files are on a win partition that you can access
from linux. Just point the import dialog to the Outport files and you
should be good to go (check ouport read me to be sure).

Once I use Outpost it generated files, then where do I copy these to on the
linux box? I tried to drop into /home/derek/evolution/local but that did
nothing.

Outport (google for it) works for Outlook to Evolution, so if you have
Outlook as well, you can export from Outlook Express to Outlook, then to
Evolution. Just not sure whether outport can do O.E. directly. It works
great from Outlook, though.

Oops what I meant was Outlook contacts exported to Evolution 1.2.4. And
can
someone explain exactly how to do this? Like what kind of export files to
use etc etc.
