[Evolution] db3 configure issues with evolution 1.3.1

["J. Gardner Biggs" <gardnerbiggs houston rr com>]

Installed to /usr/local the following packges

libgnomeprint
libgnomeprintui

db3
gal
libsoup
gtkhtml

with no issues.

but when I tried to configure the evolution-1.3.1 package for
prefix=/usr/local

I get this error:

checking for db3 compiler flags...
checking db.h usability... yes

checking for db.h... yes

checking for db3 library name... configure: error: Could not find db3
library

My pkgconfig path is set to look in /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig before the
usual /usr/lib/pkgconfig

Any ideas?
