Hi,

I wrote nice things about miss Evo 1.2.1 and loving her in spite of her
warts and blemishes, but:

The biggest wart and blemish for me, the big black hairy one in the
middle of her nose, is ldap. Seriously, it's a crime.

If no-one hollers, no-one listens.

Even with the vanilla, 100% vanilla port 389 dn-authenticated shoot, it
keeps on conking out.

If, when that happens, you go and sit on something else than your
now-defunct, local, ldap server and then do (translating from Norwegian
Bokmaal) Tools -> Directory Servers -> "Your Server" -> Connection ->
Use SSL/TLS

and then change whatever you have from "Whenever possible" to "Never"
and the following time you're chucked out to the opposite, it works.

But, you have to do this *time after time*, alternating with what you
had last time.

Don't tell me to update to 1.2.2, since that's even worse: Multi-lingual
dictionaries: I've already posted about this and won accord.
