[Evolution] "Read next unread message' keybinding DOES NOT WORK

I just installed RH9 (over RH7.3), ended up with evolution 1.2.2 in the
process, and now the "n" and "p" key bindings don't work. Control-E
(expunge) works still. 

Does anyone have a clue why this is? Needless to say, Evolution is
useless without them.

I previously ran 1.0.something. I rm -r'd ~/evolution and reset prefs
and all that.


(It's also extremely slow now, but it may be an IMAPs problem; it spends
most of its time in "storing folder (foo)" and "opening folder
imap://user    " but i haven't investigated that yet.)
