Re: [Evolution] vtrash imap folder

does anybody know how to disable the vfolder "Trash" (or general vfolder
support) so i can use my real IMAP trash folder on the IMAP server
instead?

Maybe there's a patch or something like that?

Would be nice if evolution could move the mail to the real IMAP trash
folder instead of the local vfolder Trash.

Thanks for any comments.

AFAIK that is not possible. Some infos about that topic:

The "Trash" Evolution uses is not local (as you mentioned) but indeed
virtual.

IMAP has a command to "delete" mails -- that means, marking mails for
deletion. That is the way it is intended by RFCs.

Other mail clients using a physical trash folder, do that on its own.
The actual used name depends on the used mailer and can be lower/upper
case or even localized. As there is no real standard, you can end up
with several "trash" folders.

Using a physical "trash" folder by other mail clients does not use the
delete command only but really moves mails around.

To get deleted mails out of your sight, you may want to try:
 View / Hide deleted Messages
