first off, 1.0.8 is ancient history... I believe the Golden Age is more
recent ;-)

this error message generally happens when you try to try to "relay"
messages when the smtp server is not setup for relaying...

ie, you are trying to send mail to someone not on that local machine.

many servers are configured this way to prevent misuse.

hmmm, what is he basing this on? seems pretty unlikely.

try:

export CAMEL_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1; killev; evolution-mail

wait 10 seconds or so, and then run evolution normally (but leave
evolution-mail running). Now try sending a mail... this will log the
smtp transaction to the terminal you launched evolution-mail from.

forward this log to us so that we may look it over.
