Nope, haven't had this problem, don't know how to fix it, sorry.  I
would've suggested checking 'Tools -> Preferences -> Composer prefs.'
but I just looked and didn't see anything in there.

Check the archives, this has been thoroughly discussed, but if you check
the divider between your folder tree pane and the "tasks pane, you
should actually notice that it's 2 dividers (you'll see 2 sets of little
bumps in the middle, one slightly offset from the other.)  Drag the
rightmost set of bumps to the right and that will reveal the calendar.
