Here is the error message from the terminal:

(evolution:2253): evolution-mail-WARNING **: gnome_url_show: The default

Here is the URL:

http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/libgtkhtml/2.3/libgtkhtml-2.3.5.tar.g

Any ideas?

The urls work just fine in xchat, and other gnome apps.

Let me give the entire setup so I don't leave anything out:

Server:
FreeBSD-Stable (4.8)
UW-IMAP 2002(a) SSL/Cleartext passwords
IMAP folders = ~/mail/
UNIX format (flatfiles)
Celeron 850 + 768MB of RAM
100Mbit

Client:
Gentoo-stable (except for Evo and a couple of other userland apps)
Evo 1.4 (from the masked ebuild in portage)
Setup to connect forced SSL
Evo has the password
Athlon-XP 2.0GHz + 512MB RAM
100Mbit

The mail account in question has about ~360MB of mail in it, mostly under
~/mail/Archives.

Evolution takes around 60seconds from launch to become usable. Kmail
takes
~5-10seconds on the same account, server, etc.

I will add that there are a few other files in the /mail/ directory due to
my usage of
OpenWebMail as my prmary mail client at this time. Those files are .db's,
etc. (don't
imagine they are a problem, but including their existence for
completeness)

Hello,

I have searched the archives and can't seem to find anything on this

am running
Evolution 1.4 on Gentoo-stable (all stable but Evolution and a couple
of other

am running against a FreeBSD-Stable server which is running SSL/IMAP
on 993.
Evolution
takes around 60seconds to start up and enter my account on this
server. I have
checked it
via Kmail and it enters the same account in ~5-10seconds so it appears
that it
isn't a simple
server issue.

I'd love to use Evolution as my primary groupware client, however, the
slow
refresh/startup is
killing me.

I had this problem, fixed it, then upgraded to RH9 with a new install,
and just noticed that my spelling wasn't working after the Evo 1.4
upgrade using RedCarpet.

The solution is to install gnome-spell1

I don't know why RedCarpet doesn't take care of it, but it doesn't.
Maybe in a future version?

Unfortunately, spell checking does not work for me.
The spell check option in the Edit menu is grayed

How can I get spell checking to work? I naively assume
that redcarpet installed and configured everything
correctly.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm trying to switch to Evolution and I really like it. There is one
major problem, though. I'm using Windows-1251 encoding for composing
letter. In Bulgaria, this is something like KOI8-R in Russia. I set
"Character set" in "Composer Preferences" to "Cyrillic (Windows-1251)"
but the mail is sent in "CP1251", not in "Windows-1251". So MS Outlook
clients don't read it properly.

How can I make Evolution to use "Windows-1251" instead of "CP1251" in
mail headers?

Hmm. I had the same problem with RH9. It has db4 installed. The solution
was to install compat-db-3.3.11-4

So now I have

compat-db-3.3.11-4
db4-4.0.14-20

And my addressbook is happy again!

Hi list,

I notice in a couple of posting that people were talking about Evo
1.4.2 in CVS. My question is the following, when will Evo 1.4.1 (or
1.4.2) be available in .RPM. I was waiting for a bug fix in 1.4.1 to
install it, but I don't want to have to use the CVS. Both the Ximian
installer and the FTP site only have 1.4.0.

Thanks in advance.

Well, if 1.4.2 already is in CVS you can keep your fingers crossed for a
release soon.

The problem is, packaging and final testing isn't simple for a couple of
distributions. Packaging takes time and sometimes builds cannot be
released in the wild due to serious issues. (See my posts "IMAP issues
with Evolution 1.4" yesterday for some more info.)

Sorry, but I even doubt there is a fixed date yet.

Default answer #2 for open source:
"When all major issues are resolved and packaging goes well."

Perfect fit to this answer... ;-)

1) Is there a way to create a group Contact List from the

into
the group list entry line but it doesn't accept all the addresses.

2) If you have a large group Contact List (+200 for example), is there

display that information.

Any help is appreciated.
