I just read on one of my Linux sites that 1.4.3 had been released. So I
clicked on the download link, got to the FTP site and found the RedHat 9
rpm files. The only problem was that there were many files and I
couldn't find instructions on which ones I needed, as well as any
installation instructions. I know about rpm -i, but would like anyone's
expertise as to which ones I download, which to install first and so
forth. Thanks everyone in advance for you help.
Well, there are instructions on the ximian.com website...
If you wanna use FTP: You will definitely need the file named
'evolution-1.4.3-0.ximian.*.rpm'. Try installing / upgrading this with
RPM and it will tell you about missing packages. Grab them, too (at
least gtkhtml and some libs).
I cannot tell you, which files you will need exactly, as it will vary on
distributions and currently installed packages.
You will not need any *pilot* and *devel* files, unless you you actually
have a Palm Device or wanna start hacking on your own. ;)
On RH systems, be sure to be up2date, as there may be required packages
from RH to be updated.
