[Evolution] How to fix trashed config (mail accounts disappeared)?

Hello,

I was messing about with imap (changed imap to imaps with ntsysv on RH8,
restarted xinetd), evolution hung when I messed with folder
subscribtions (I think) due to the imap server which no longer answering
on port 143. I did a killev as root (nearest xterm), restarted evolution
which then presented me with those "firstboot" friendly wizzards. 

I aborted, copied my evolution directory with cp -R and restarted
evolution again to see what was going on. Answered the wizzards and saw
that I still have all my folders, filters, etc (big phew, it took me
several hours to import hundreds of megs of Outlook email). The imap
folders/entry has disappeared and... so have all my Mail Accounts except
for the one I just made with the wizzards!

I would *really* appreciate a hint how to restore my original mail
accounts. Anyone have a clue?
