[Evolution] insert special characters and symbols

Hi

I just had to send a message containing the (German) letter 'ß' (also
the Greek beta-symbol).

I had to copy it from a German website because I couldn't find any way
to add it through a menu or shortcut.

Am I missing something or isn't this possible right now in Evo?  I'm
using Evo 1.2.2 on SuSE 8.1 Pro.
If this isn't possible right now, will it be possible in a future
version of Evolution?
