Where did you read this? I see no mention of it in the release notes.
I did a search of open bugs and found nothing that appeared to match
this problem, perhaps it is a new bug in exchange we need to work
around, or something that exposes more bugs evolution's imap
implementation.
Any ideas? (other than purchase a connector license? I am considering doing
that, as I'd like to have access to my contacts and tasks as well, however
this bugginess is not encouraging to spend the $70).
As a start, I would suggest opening a bug on bugzilla.ximian.com and
including the output of running:
CAMEL_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1 evolution-mail
in a terminal before starting evolution (and then run evolution).
(check the log for certain sensitive data), if its looping there should
be something reasonbly obvious that is causing it to loop.
having problems, in 1.2.1 initially, just upgraded to 1.2.2 and no change.
Specifically the problem I'm having is when I try to view the contents of my
root 'INBOX' folder, it goes into an infinite loop of "Fetching summary
information for new messages" and "Scanning for changed messages". All other
sub folders work fine, just 'INBOX' does this. It correctly displays the
number of new messages in 'INBOX' after the first time through the loop, but
then keeps on going, never displaying anything. Once it's gotten into this
loop, I can't get any new data out of any other folder, as it is monopolizing
communication with the server... however if I close evolution (sometimes
having to do a killev to get it to die), start back up and avoid ever
attempting to list INBOX, everything else works fine. Unfortunately I have a
lot of important mail in INBOX.
