Perhaps not truly related, but isn't it so that you can't have a 'table'
inside a 'pre'-tag? Maybe you can enclose only the actual text with the
pre-tags something like:

<pre>Lane</pre><BR> (not sure the extra '<br' si still needed here...)

although I'm not sure you can have 'pre'-tags inside 'font'-tags...
