Re: [Evolution] latest version# /changelog hard to find on website

it seems as though the only way to find out from the web site what the
latest version of evolution is, is to actually start a new install and check
what is happening with the download.

Partly ack. Following the tracks of a sole user, there is the version
number missing.

Version number and release notes are hidden behind the developer
section. However, the first click in "developer" reveals all this:
 http://developer.ximian.com/

a simple "download 1.4.6" on the download page would sure make life simpler.

Yeah, Probably. For very convenient installation/upgrading there is Red
Carpet. It will tell you, if there are updates available.

btw: 1.4.6 isn't released yet. ;)

do other mandrake users find they cant add columns, check attachments in
"edit as new" messages and for that matter only "edit as new" a sent message
if it is in the "sent" folder?

Mandrake user here.

What Mandrake and Evolution version are you talking about specifically?

$ cat /etc/mandrake-release
$ rpm -q evolution

FWIW: Mandrake 9.1, Evolution 1.4.5-snapshot here. Adding columns in the
mail list works just fine. I don't exactly know, what your issue is
regarding attachment, please explain this more detailed.

AFAIK Evolution only lets you "edit as new" messages, that you wrote
yourself. This works for me in any folder holding my Sent mail.
