Howdy,
Looking at the Outbox, it is filled with email messages with valid
addresses following the names in the "To:" field. So, it looks like
names are resolved to addresses - i.e., my name is matched correctly to
my email address. Also, when the user quits evolution, he gets a
message warning him about unsent email messages - something like "You
have unsent messages, do wish to quit evolution?"

what do the To/Cc headers look like in the messages sitting in the
Outbox? do any of them have empty fields?
evolution 1.2 stops trying to flush Outbox mail at the first error, so
if the first message in the queue is bad, it won't try the second
message, the third message, etc.
