Indeed, I am running ximian-connector-1.4.4-0.ximian.6.1 - I update
using Red Carpet.

However, I think you nailed it regarding the folder being too full.  I
emptied it using Outlook and then Evo was able to access it again.

"Could not get new messages" usually means the IIS Lockdown problem. Can
you view your Calendar? (See http://support.ximian.com/q?328 for more
details about the problem.)

The other thing is to make sure you're running Connector 1.4.4 as well
as Evolution 1.4.4. One of the changes in Connector 1.4.4 was to ask for
the contents of large folders in smaller pieces, because some Exchange
servers refuse to answer very large WebDAV requests. So if your Deleted
Items folder is very large, this might be the problem.
