Re: [Evolution] IMAP folder subscription tool shows no servers

Chris,

In evo 1.2.4, when I use the tool at Tools->Subscribe under to subscribe
to a list of IMAP folders, the list of servers is empty. My IMAP
account is set up correctly and I can read from the folders available.
I just can't seem to subscribe to them so that I don't have to look at
all the other junk on my home directory on the server. Any ideas?

If you have all your mail in a special directory in your home (like me),
you don't need to subscribe, just to filter all the other folders.

Tools / Settings / Mail Accounts / <account> Edit / Receiving Options

- disable 'show only subscribed folders'
- enable 'override server-supplied folder namespace'
- set Namespace to the folder containing your mail

For me, that is '.mail', as I have all my mail stored in the ~/.mail/
directory. That prevents me from seeing all those other files in Evo and
the leading '.' hides the mail folder in my home. And I don't have to
subscribe to the numerous mailboxes...
