[Evolution] auromake problems with current cvs

I am getting automake fail errors with currnet cvs. (no more info given)

the message is

automake: camel/Makefile.am: object `camel-lock.$(OBJEXT)' created both
with libtool and without
 
**Error**: `automake' failed. Please fix the warnings
(probably missing development files) and try again.


(and there are no warnings!)

Only on evolution

I have automakke/aclocal 1.4/1.5/1.6 installed - anyone come across this
