then a loong hang (betwen 10mn and half an hour ? seems like a tcp
timeout), then:

received: A00307 BAD Invalid sequence in Uid

this suggests the "hang" was caused by the server taking a long time to
respond then.

However, it also suggests the bug we got a bunch of reports on about
Evolution sending command-lines that were too long for some servers to
process. This has been fixed in CVS by breaking the uid set into shorter
segments.
