An example of using db_dump and db_load to convert addressbooks between
versions of Berkeley DB can be found here (though you'd be converting
from 3 to 4, not 1.85 to 3 so YMMV).  The concepts are similar anyway. 
Of course, I find it's easier just to stick to one version of Berkeley
DB but that seems to go against the "I must use the latest & greatest of
everything even if I can't explain why!" philosophy ...
