[Evolution] IMAP "Loading message content (...)" hang

hello.
i'm accessing an MS Exchange 2000 server's IMAP port to check my mail
with evolution 1.0.3. when i try and view some messages, the status bar
at the bottom of evolution goes to "Loading message content (...)" and
hangs. other IMAP connections seem to work fine. does anyone know why
something like this might be happening? other modes of accessing my
outlook mailbox work fine (Outlook client, web access).
