There appears to be quite a few problems with the spell checking in
evolution, at least if you live in a multi-language environment. I
write emails every day in danish, english and italian, and having to go
to the control center to switch language for almost every message is a
pain. It really should be selectable for the individual message being
composed. It should be possible to write three different emails at the
same time in three different languages without having to spend more time
in the control center than in evo.

I am thinking that a straightforward solution to this would be to have
evo spawn off different copies of "spellchecker --lang=<foo>" for each
different language which is being used for composition.

Also, it would be an amazing feature to have a preferences setting for
the addressbook or listmanager or somewhere, which would say "use
lang=<foo>" for this recipient. So as soon as you start
replying/composing to someone, the correct dictionary would be chosen.

A super-amazing feature would be to have a list of "approved
dictionaries" for evo to have on hand. For me, that list would be one,
for you it would be three. :-) And when you were composing an email to
someone who didn't have a preferred dictionary setting set, evo would
spell check in the first dictionary, and if there was a mistake, try the
same word in the next dictionary, hoping to find a match in the lang=DE
setting, rather than the default lang=EN setting. If it was able to do
this consistently, it would say to you, "I was using lang=EN for this
recipient, should I use lang=DE?" and you would say yes or no, as
appropriate.

Another thought I just had, since you are one of these people who can
use more than one language (unlike myself, which is why I am asking), do
you think it would be wise to spell check in all of your languages at
once, only marking a word as mis-spelled if it was not in any of the
dictionaries (lang=en, lang=fr, lang=de, personal)? I suppose that this
would only be useful for the times when you are composing to someone who
doesn't have a lang=<foo> setting in their addressbook information.
