Sounds good, but it still leaves me high and dry for the moment. These
items actually come via GroupWise -- I'm guessing there won't be alot of
work in that ares.

Well, evolution uses icalendar which outlook can be told to send.  Also
some work is being done on converting the tnef type attachments which
iirc, is what outlook by default sends its calendar information in.
