I do something similar, creating a final filter named "spam" that moves
messages to a folder named "spam". I don't instantly trash them because
I may get false positives. I scan the subject lines in the spam folder
to see if anything got misfiled before killing it all.
My spam filter matches on "any" criterion and has a lot of criteria,
looking mostly for certain kinds of subject lines (like "dvd",
"mortgage", and "cellular phone").
Whenever I add another new filter to the main list it's added to the
end, so I have to move the spam filter back to the bottom.
