Larry meant for you to gdb gnome-gtkhtml-editor, not evolution-mail.

Since gnome-gtkhtml-editor is actually a bonobo component, it does not
show any GUI. It waits for another program to embed it. So, in
essence... gnome-gtkhtml-editor is more like a daemon process that
provides a GUI when requested.
