[Evolution] problem with appointment reminders

Hi, I am having a problem with appointment reminders.  The reminders
only popup when I restart the machine (a laptop so its often
shutdown/restarted) after an appointment has gone by.  Whilst the
machine is running (usually with evo open, on the mail screen), the
appointment goes by without any indication.  On the next boot, the
reminders all pop up when I restart evo.  This is the first time I have
tried using this feature so I have no experiance with any quirks it has.

Is this a known problem with an easy fix?

System is Mandrake 8.1 on a Dell Inspiron 8000 with evo etc built from
cvs (0.99.2)
