Are you using Emacs mode? If so, lots of menu shortcuts don't work.
(Ctrl-V is "page down").

Um... there is, if you're reading in the main window. Looks like it
didn't make it into the separate message window's menus though. Can you
file a bug at bugzilla.ximian.com?
