[Evolution] character encoding

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not.  I'm using Evo .99.1.


Menu -> View -> Character Encoding shows as being "Unknown (Default)"

Changing this value does not stick between sessions.  What does this
setting do?

If I go Menu -> Tools -> Mail Settings -> Other the default character
encoding is set as "Western European"

Are these two settings supposed to be in sync?  Should changing one of
these then change the other?
